Manchester United defender Axel Tuanzebe is attracting strong interest from Aston Villa, according to reports. The 23-year-old has struggled with injuries since returning to the club in 2019 and could be set for a move away.
Tuanzebe made headlines last season with his masterful performance against Paris Saint-Germain, keeping Kylian Mbappé quiet on the night. Since that night in Paris, injuries and a lack of appearances have hampered his progress.
The defender impressed in the 2018/19 campaign, featuring for Aston Villa in the Championship under both Steve Bruce and Dean Smith, with the latter’s side now in the race to sign him.
That’s according to The Telegraph, who say that Tuanzebe is attracting ‘strong interest’ from Aston Villa and has accepted that his chances might be limited with the possibility of being demoted to fifth-choice centre-back after the arrival of Raphael Varane.
Villa are said to be hoping that Tuanzebe’s history at Villa Park will aid their bid to sign him on loan.
