Everton reignite interest in Diogo Dalot after impressive AC Milan loan spell

Diogo Dalot is currently on holiday after playing a part in Portugal’s Euro 2020 campaign and, as things stand, he’s set to spend pre-season with Manchester United.

We have already reported on Real Madrid’s interest in Diogo Dalot, with newly appointed Carlo Ancelotti previously targeting the right-back during his spell in charge at Everton.

However, the Premier League outfit has allegedly reignited interest in Dalot’s signature.

The Athletic claim Rafa Benitez is eyeing up a move for the Portuguese full-back as he looks to bolster his squad in the summer transfer window.

Benitez’s controversial appointment at Goodison Park certainly raised tensions around Merseyside and he now looks set to issue a pursuit of a fringe player at United, which would give Dalot a greater opportunity of regular football in England’s top-flight after an impressive campaign on loan at AC Milan last term.

Manchester United have been linked with a move for Atletico Madrid right-back Kieran Trippier, as per the Manchester Evening News, so for Dalot’s sake it wouldn’t be a bad idea to move on. Especially now he is getting a taste of senior international football with the former European Champions.

The Reds could also use funds from any deal to strengthen the squad ahead of an important season for Solskjaer.
