(Video) Bruno Fernandes in training with former club ahead of new season

Bruno Fernandes has ramped up preparations for the new season by training with his former club Boavista during his holiday. The midfielder is due back at Carrington on Monday but has now been seen kickstarting training earlier than expected.

The 26-year-old featured over 70 times for club and country last season and looked visibly fatigued towards the end of the campaign but is now showing no signs of slowing down.

Fernandes was part of the Portugal side who disappointingly crashed out of this summer’s European Championship at the round-of-16 stage but only started two of their four games.

With several first-team regulars not expected back until early August, Solskjaer will be happy to learn that Fernandes is maintaining his fitness before their Premier League curtain-raiser against Leeds on August 14.

Despite a dip in form towards the tail-end of last season, Fernandes remains Manchester United’s talisman and will be heavily reliant on their Portuguese maestro in their bid to end a four-year trophy drought.
