No official confirmation has come from Manchester United yet but Jadon Sancho is set to join the club in a mouthwatering £73m deal. The 21-year-old underwent a medical earlier this week and an official announcement is said to be imminent.

After leaving Manchester City in 2017, Sancho enjoyed four stellar years at Borussia Dortmund and more recently, a deadly partnership with star striker Erling Haaland.

The pair were vital in Dortmund’s late push for Champions League qualification last season but their ruthless double-act is set to come to an end this summer as Sancho edges ever closer to a Premier League return.

“Me and Jadon understood each other very well and he’s a top player,” Haaland told Stadium Astro, via The Mirror. “So of course it’s sad that he goes but that’s how it is and that’s football. You never know what will happen.

“But I think that there’s a lot of other good players that I have a good tone with and it can become even better. We have to see who I match the best with.”

Haaland, who was close to joining Manchester United in January 2020, is also said to a target for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as the Norwegian boss lobbies for a long-term solution to his striking problems.

The pair worked together at Molde and with Edinson Cavani set to leave the club next summer, the Old Trafford hierarchy could look to revive a deal next year.
