Man Utd and Liverpool join race to sign Lyon star Houssem Aouar

Manchester United have joined the race to sign Lyon’s star midfielder Houssem Aouar, according to reports. Aouar has been strongly linked with a move to Arsenal but according to reports, Liverpool and Tottenham are also interested in the player.

The 23-year-old has two years remaining on his current contract at Lyon and amid his club’s financial troubles, they could possibly be tempted into negotiating the sale of their prized midfield asset.

According to ESPN, Manchester United, Liverpool, Tottenham, and Arsenal are all interested in signing Aouar this summer. It is claimed that Manchester United are monitoring Aouar but that a move could hinge on the future of Paul Pogba.

Furthermore, ESPN says that Paris Saint-Germain are considering a move for Pogba this summer, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer seeing Houssem Aouar as a possible replacement for the 28-year-old.

Aouar was close to joining Arsenal on deadline day last season but a move failed to materialize, leaving the Gunners with far more fierce competition for his signature this time around.
