Manchester United summer target focused on Premier League return after winning La Liga

Manchester United have been linked with a move for Atletico Madrid full-back Kieran Trippier this summer.

The Daily Mail now suggests that the former Tottenham Hotspur star is focused on returning to the Premier League.

When we spoke to Fabrizio Romano on the Strettycast about the Bury born full-back, the Italian journalist told us Trippier would remain respectful to his present club despite being aware of Manchester United’s interest. He added that the Red Devils have already had a bid rejected for the Englishman this summer.

Is the tide starting to change now that Euro 2020 is over and done with?

Players like Trippier can now evaluate their careers and decide whether they would like to move clubs — if someone has the money Atleti will demand for his signature.

United could definitely do with another right-back to provide a challenge for Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Plus, on top of that, Trippier gives you something different in the final third. The manager could do with more alternative options like that if he has any chance of winning the Premier League.

Trippier won the Spanish title last season as Atleti pipped Real Madrid and Barcelona to the crown. He would be arriving with lots of valuable experience if a deal can be agreed between the clubs.

Having already played two seasons under Diego Simeone, Trippier has one year left on his contract.
