(Video) Legendary Brazilian commentator calls Luke Shaw ‘Shawberto Carlos’

Luke Shaw’s fine form for Manchester United earned him the nickname ‘Shawberto Carlos’ and the funny spin on legendary defender Roberto Carlos’ name was adopted by England fans at this summer’s European Championship.

The 26-year-old continued his incredible form this summer, providing three assists and scoring England’s goal in their final loss to Italy on Sunday.

‘Shawberto Carlos’ even spread as far to the left-back himself, as Carlos declared his admiration for Luke Shaw in the aftermath of England’s 4-0 win over Ukraine last week.

And now, a video of legendary Brazilian commentator Galvão Bueno is circulating on social media. Bueno can be heard referring to the former Southampton defender as ‘Shawberto Carlos’ twice in the short clip.

Shaw will, despite the disappointment in losing the final, take pride in his performances. The opening goal after just two minutes was his first for England, the first by a Manchester United player in a European Championship final and the fastest ever in the deciding game.
