Jadon Sancho to complete Manchester United transfer this week

Jadon Sancho is set to complete his transfer to Manchester United this week, according to reports. The club announced that an agreement had been reached with Borussia Dortmund over his transfer earlier this month.

Completion of the deal has, however, been delayed due to the 21-year-old’s involvement in this summer’s European Championship. Due to COVID-19 regulations, Sancho was unable to leave the camp to undergo a medical with Manchester United.

But after the Euro 2020 final on Sunday, Sancho is now free to complete his switch from Germany back to England in a reported £73m move.

And according to journalist Tom McDermott, the former Manchester City and Watford youngster is expected to do just that as soon as this week.

Sancho will join Tom Heaton to become the club’s second arrival of the summer after a two-year-long chase.

Focus is now believed to be turning towards securing a defensive reinforcement, with Raphael Varane top of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s wishlist. The defender has just one year remaining on his contract and is the subject of intense interest from Manchester United.

According to reports, there is now confidence at the club that a deal can be made after it was revealed that an agreement on personal terms with Varane is close.
