Jan Vertonghen, who faced Manchester United on numerous occasions during his time with Tottenham, is said to have listed Anthony Martial in his shortlist.
The 25-year-old forward missed out on the action this summer after suffering a knee injury on international duty in March. Martial was said to be hopeful of recovering in time for Euro 2020 but failed to make another appearance for his club before the season ended.
Courtois, however, did not agree with his teammate’s admission, insisting that Martial ‘is not a major player’.
