In less serious news, newly eliminated Belgium players have been active in media since their exit from this summer’s European Championship. The ‘golden generation’ of Belgian football went into the tournament with high hopes but fell short again as they crashed out in the quarter-finals.
Thibaut Courtois, who has represented both Madrid club, was asked to name three ‘major’ players not to feature at the tournament this summer and could only name Sergio Ramos, according to PickX Sports, via GFFN.

Vertonghen then lists players he could have said & included Anthony Martial.

Jan Vertonghen, who faced Manchester United on numerous occasions during his time with Tottenham, is said to have listed Anthony Martial in his shortlist.
The 25-year-old forward missed out on the action this summer after suffering a knee injury on international duty in March. Martial was said to be hopeful of recovering in time for Euro 2020 but failed to make another appearance for his club before the season ended.
Courtois, however, did not agree with his teammate’s admission, insisting that Martial ‘is not a major player’.
