Dimitar Berbatov comments on Manchester United £73m signing

Manchester United are set to complete a deal for Jadon Sancho when his involvement in this summer’s European Championship ends, an official statement from the club says. According to The Guardian, the 21-year-old is set to join the club for £73m.

The young winger has been strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford for several years but will now finally join the club after yet another stellar campaign with Borussia Dortmund.

Sancho spent two years at Manchester City before making the move to Germany and has now been praised by former Manchester United player Dimitar Berbatov.

“Some fans are disappointed that Jadon Sancho hasn’t played more for England at Euro 2020. But I am just pleased that Manchester United have signed him, finally,” Berbatov told Betfair, as quoted by Manchester Evening News.

“Does Sancho’s arrival make them serious Premier League title contenders? I can’t wait to see him playing in a red shirt. But let’s wait and see what it means for United’s title chances.”

Sancho is yet to be officially registered as a Manchester United player, however. Despite announcing that an agreement has been reached with Borussia Dortmund, Sancho will still need to complete a medical before signing his new contract.

He is expected to do so after the Euro 2020 final on Sunday and the close proximity between Wembley and the AoN Training Complex should mean that the completion is announced swiftly afterward.
