Declan Rice asked two Man Utd players about the club as he is ‘keen’ on United

Having announced a deal in principle for the signing of Jadon Sancho and completing the free transfer of Tom Heaton, Manchester United are now reportedly eyeing up a deal for a centre-back.

But rumours around a midfielder are circulating social media and Declan Rice is reportedly a longstanding target for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The young midfielder is an England regular and has a good relationship with Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard, sparking discussions among supporters that the 28-year-old could help facilitate a move to Old Trafford.

And according to Manchester Evening News journalist Samuel Luckhurst, the midfielder is keen on Manchester United.

“Rice is keen on United and asked Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw about the club during the England squad’s March get-together,” Luckhurst wrote in a questions-and-answers session on the publication’s website.

Manchester United fans will be hoping Maguire and Shaw gave glowing reviews of their time at the club, with midfield a growing cause of concern for fans. Nemanja Matic enjoyed a stellar first campaign at the club but is approaching the end of his career and doubts remain over Scott McTominay and Fred.
