Man Utd suffer huge blow as Man City complete £88m Jack Grealish deal

Manchester United have suffered a huge blow in their bid to close the gap on Manchester City at the top of the Premier League. According to reports, Pep Guardiola’s side are set to complete the £88m signing of Jack Grealish from Aston Villa.

That’s according to an exclusive from CaughtOffside, who say that the Aston Villa captain will join the blue side of Manchester when his involvement in this summer’s European Championships is over.

The winger has been linked with a move to Manchester United in the past, but according to CaughtOffside, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have never expressed an interest in Grealish, allowing Manchester City to seal the transfer uncontested.

Aston Villa are set to receive £88m for their talisman, a record sale for the Birmingham club and just short of the £89m British transfer record – set by Paul Pogba on his return to Manchester United in 2019.

Elsewhere, Manchester United are said to be closing in on the signing of Jadon Sancho, formerly of Manchester City. That’s according to Fabrizio Romano, who says that only details remain in the deal.

  1. Manchester United has never wanted grealish so it is impossible to suffer a blow all because City are signing him. I suggest you don’t stoop to the media levels with these fake headlines and be better than that by simply sticking to reporting the truth in these articles

  2. Useless manchester united team .no one united is signing .just pricing all players for other teams to buy

  3. So Grealish has gone now and for less than was expected. What happened to ” we are no longer a selling club” “our wealthy owners want to build a side around him” Lets hope this is fake news rather than fake promises. Be really silly if he has gone for £88m as that’s less than Pogba came back to Man Utd and only £3m more than Maguire moved from Leicester to Man Utd which would mean a really stupid valuation.

    1. if Grealish was going to United it would be £100m. United always pay more because our negotiators are brutal and Clubs always charge us more. Aston Villa had an amazing change of form last season and looked to be adding some real talent, but if they sell Grealish they will be reducing their chances again.

  4. This man is very stupid by allowing man city to buy jack grealish. Manchester united is looking for this player for long time. And he is good player and have good experience.

  5. A comical ‘scoop’. Most other fans do not realize the size and ambition of our owners. I hope for one more season from our ‘superstar’ If not I do not expect him to go for less than£120,000,000.

  6. Why is it that when a rival club buys a player like in Grealish, Manchester United’s title aspirations become doomed as reported by the press. And also why Man Utd’s always take an eternity to complete when other clubs can complete theirs practically in such a short time. Do our people lack the nuance and negotiation skills to conclude deals fast?????

  7. Grealish joining city, good additional for pep’s side. We could’ve signed the villa man last season at around £60m but the board went for cheaper option, that’s dvb. Don’t say Donny isn’t any better but seems ole doesn’t like him, he wanted grealish the Woodward brought dvb over £40m, could’ve added just £20m and grealish could’ve have been ours down from last season. Our bosses are just poor in tearms of team build up.

  8. ole ma

n United need grealish Sancho or kingsly camon julies kounde and Harry kane but you are stop to delay why if we need to take a tittle so dat these players we most buy
