Luke Shaw kept his place from the England side which drew 0-0 with Scotland last week and started their final group game against the Czech Republic. The Manchester United full-back, although the bar was set very low, was one of England’s top performers in the stalemate against Scotland.
The 25-year-old did, however, feature again on Tuesday evening and was nearly credited with an assist straight away. Harry Kane released the ball to Shaw, who after a quick glance, curved the ball perfectly into Raheem Sterling’s path.

The Manchester City forward could only lob the ball onto the post, however, and scores remained even until just minutes after when England finally took the lead.
Shaw was one of the Three Lions’ persistent threats down the left-hand side and will be hoping to impress Southgate, who has seemingly not decided on his first-choice left-back.
