Man Utd alerted as Fabrizio Romano confirms Premier League interest in Serie A star

Manchester United have been alerted after journalist and transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Premier League clubs are interested in Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

The midfielder has been linked with a move to Old Trafford for several years but a move has never materialized and with three years remaining on his contract, Lazio holds all the cards over the Serbian’s future.

Fabrizio Romano explained to The Laziali that there is interest from Premier League clubs but did not name any teams, sparking suggestions that Manchester United could be one.

The 26-year-old was a key player under Simone Inzaghi and is expected to take up a similar role under incoming manager Maurizio Sarri, who was confirmed as Lazio’s new boss earlier this month.

Romano also confirmed that although interest from the British islands remains, Paris-Saint Germain is the club ‘most seriously’ interested in making a move for Milinkovic-Savic.

According to transfermarkt, the Lazio midfielder is valued at a whopping €70m, which could put a move to Old Trafford in doubt.
