Bruno Fernandes sends Cristiano Ronaldo message after breaking two records

Bruno Fernandes has sent Cristiano Ronaldo a wholesome message on social media after the 36-year-old broke another couple of records in Portugal’s 3-0 win over Hungary. The reigning champions kicked off their defense in fabulous style but were made to wait until the 84th minute for the breakthrough.

Manchester United’s midfield dynamo was involved in Portugal’s all-important first goal, opening up Hungary’s resilient defense with a beautiful pass.

But it was Cristiano Ronaldo, as ever, who stole the headlines with a quickfire double. The two goals meant that the Portuguese talisman became the sole top scorer in European Championship history, taking his tally to 11 goals in total.

Ronaldo also became the first player to ever play in five renditions of the European Championships after making his maiden appearance in 2004.

Bruno Fernandes, who often cites Ronaldo as one of his inspirations, congratulated Ronaldo on his new records after the game. “A few more records to add to his endless list… record-breaking machine,” Bruno wrote with a tone of pride on Instagram.

The post will only fuel talks of a return to Old Trafford for Cristiano Ronaldo but the former Real Madrid forward will be sure to not let any speculation get in the way this summer.
