Portugal started their Euro 2020 campaign on Tuesday as they take on Hungary, but failed to assert their dominance in the first half. Fernando Santos’ side dominated proceedings but were limited to few goalscoring opportunities, with Bruno Fernandes being at the heart of any attacking success.
The sides went into the half-time break all even, but Portugal missed a golden opportunity just before the interval. Bruno Fernandes made his European Championship debut and will be disappointed not to have returned to the dressing room with an assist to his name.

Fernandes received the ball from Guerreiro, before fizzing a cross onto the feet of Cristiano Ronaldo but the Juventus forward failed to guide his shot on target, blazing high instead.
The miss, uncharacteristic from the Portugal talisman, has sparked debate among fans on social media with some arguing that Bruno Fernandes is the new shining light of the side.
