Manchester United are finally stepping up their pursuit of long-standing target Jadon Sancho and according to new reports, which follow next yesterday that the two clubs are in talks, there is optimism from both United and Dortmund that a deal can be completed.
That’s according to Sport1, who are deemed reliable in this case and have been tracking the situation since last summer.
Negotiations between Manchester United and Dortmund collapsed last summer when the English club ‘balked’ at the €120 million price tag on Sancho’s head, but it looks like they could be getting their man after all.
Sport1 claim that the two sides ‘are getting closer’ to an agreement after United opened official talks with the Dortmund hierarchy, but that an official bid is yet to be lodged. It is also reported that all parties are optimistic.
Agreeing personal terms is not seen as an issue as that was agreed last year so should the clubs agree on a fee, there is a chance that the deal is confirmed very soon after.
Jadon Sancho is part of the England squad preparing for the Euro’s and Gareth Southgate will not want any transfer speculation to disrupt his players so it’s in United’s best interest to have the deal completed before England face Croatia on June 13.
