Jadon Sancho has been on the top of Manchester United’s wishlist for quite some time now and according to reports, Solskjær might finally be getting his man. The Norwegian has lobbied for a right-sided winger since he arrived at the club in 2018 but it looks like United are stepping up their pursuit of Sancho.
United ‘balked’ at the £110 million price-tag set on the former Manchester City man’s head last summer but there is now belief that a deal can be done, according to The Athletic (£).
The report claims that United are ‘pressing ahead’ with talks to bring Jadon Sancho to Old Trafford, just under 12 months after a deal collapsed.
United are prepared to commit £80 million, writes Laurie Whitwell, whilst the German club are holding out for an additional £20 million in add-ons. United reportedly want to sign Sancho before the Euro’s but accept that his involvement with England has ‘added complications’.
The new information indicates that a deal could be on the horizon, with reports of a £20 million gap in valuation a common theme in transfer stories surrounding Manchester United.
The club infamously threatened to walk away from talks to sign Harry Maguire two years ago after Leicester demanded £95 million but ended up signing the defender for £80m a week later.
