Anthony Martial faces uncertain future at Manchester United

The future doesn’t look too promising for Anthony Martial – missing out on a place in the France squad for the Euros and it sounds like Manchester United will sell him if they buy another striker this summer.

That is according to The Times after the Frenchman endured a difficult season in United’s attack. Martial never got going this term managing just four Premier League goals (3 more in cup games) and it remains to be seen if Ole Gunnar Solskjaer can still trust him to lead the line next season.

A huge drop off for a player who scored 23 goals in all competitions last season. Sadly, he’s failed to build on that.

Edinson Cavani has signed a new contract – keeping him at the club for another year at least, and most fans will tell you they have more faith in the Uruguayan when it comes to putting the ball in the back of the net.

“At one point in his career the sport’s most expensively acquired teenager, Anthony Martial is the designated casualty should United sign a star striker,” The Times claims in an article about Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane.

Reports suggest Solskjaer is pushing Manchester United to sign Kane this summer.

Martial hasn’t turned into the goalscorer we thought would after bursting onto the scene in his 2o15 debut against Liverpool. Solskjaer has a big call to make on the Frenchman’s future.
