Scott McTominay eyeing Europa League glory after ‘tough’ season’

Scott McTominay feels optimistic ahead of the Europa League final against Villarreal.

In a press conference ahead of the Europa League final on May 26, Scott McTominay states Manchester United are making progress ahead of an opportunity to put a marker down for next season.

“We’re in a situation where we want to finish strongly,” McTominay said. “Right now we’re definitely making progress and the final is a good opportunity for us to put a marker down for next season.

“It’s the winning mentality that has to be a given at this football club. The will to win at the end is probably the most important win and we have to give everything in our power to win.

“It’s been a tough season but we have to push through it and hopefully get our rewards at the end of it.”

Manchester United are still gunning to win the Europa League.

La Liga outfit Villarreal await them in the final, which takes place in Gdansk, and it’s been some time since United has travelled there.

After back-to-back defeats against Leicester City and Liverpool, the Reds need to get back on track to secure second place.
