Marcus Rashford was only making a name for himself as a first team regular when Manchester United won the Europa League in 2017. Jose Mourinho was in charge at the time, and I recall a great degree of hope before it diminished with a terrible transfer window.
Fair to say Jose Mourinho was happy on that night in Stockholm but less so as the months went by.
I fear for Ole, ahead of the transfer window — awaiting the constant excuses, but hopefully the scouting network has done its homework by identifying some gems that will strengthen the side for next season. I may sound pessimistic but that is because I am.
But less so about the Europa League final.
It’s great to have something to play for and I feel this team could really benefit from getting a taste of success.
Rashford certainly appears excited about the big occasion, sharing a photo of a memorable night on Twitter. He will be hoping to collect a second Europa League winners’ medal at the end of the month.
