Manchester United star returns to training despite fears his season was over

Tony Martial is back. Well, almost.

We initially feared that Anthony Martial could miss the rest of the season, as per Sky Sports, but it looks like the Frenchman is on the road to recovery after being spotted training on Wednesday.

Manchester United expect to qualify for the Europa League final, playing AS Roma tonight in the second leg of the semi-final tie (6-2 agg), so Martial could get a chance to play his way into form.

Although Martial hasn’t had a good season, it’s a boost for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer when it comes to team selection. We know he’s a brilliant player on his day and it would be fantastic if he returned with goals.

Goals have been a problem for Martial this season (scoring four and five assists in the Premier League via WhoScored) and Solskjaer has made it very clear that he wants Edinson Cavani to extend his stay at the club – undoubtedly because the Frenchman hasn’t become a prolific goalscorer.

Manchester United’s official Twitter account (@ManUtd) shared pictures of Martial training, as seen below:

United have a hectic schedule between now and the end of the season, so it looks like they face a run of three games in five, meaning Solskjaer will need most of his players fit.
