Luke Shaw was openly criticised and frozen out by Jose Mourinho but is now playing the best football of his life under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Manchester United.
That’s what made United fans love the left-back’s embrace with the current United boss after the Reds dismantled Mourinho’s Tottenham in North London.
Shaw is arguably the Premier League’s full-back right now after revitalising his career under Solskjaer and again put in another superb attacking display as United dominated after being behind at the break.
Mourinho showed class in congratulating Shaw and teammate Victor Lindelof on the pitch at full-time, but was visibly frustrated at a result that leaves Spurs outsiders for the top four places.
Ecstatic Solskjaer’s emotions contrasted vastly with Mourinho’s, and the Norwegian rushed to embrace his left-back just before he was met by the Spurs boss.
Paul Pogba, arguably man-of-the-match for United, was another who shared a frosty relationship with Mourinho during the Portuguese’s time at Old Trafford but the pair shook hands before walking down the tunnel.
