Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes has given fans a teasing prediction ahead of this summer’s transfer window.
Speaking after his old side’s 2-0 win in Thursday’s Europa League quarter-final first-leg against Granada, Scholes has weighed in on why his old club side has struggled in recent years.
The ex-England international admitted that the Red Devils struggle to score enough goals and have subsequently failed to compete for major trophies since Wayne Rooney retired.
When asked if he thinks United will go all out to land Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland in the summer, Scholes revealed that he firmly believes his old club could splash as much as £150m to land the Norweigan.
“He has taken real considered steps in his career, this is not going to be about money.”
“I can’t think of a player this young and that has been this coveted by everyone.”
Erling Haaland will be top of many wanted lists this summer…
