Manchester United duo suspended for Europa League second-leg vs Granada

Manchester United duo Scott McTominay and Luke Shaw are both suspended for the Europa League quarter-final second-leg against Granada at Old Trafford.

The pair were both yellow carded in quick succession in the first-half of the away leg and will be now be out of action for next week’s decisive tie.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer named a strong lineup for the first-leg, highlighting the importance he places on claiming his first silverware as United boss.

But he will be without two of his most reliable players for the second-leg as United ended the first-half with three players in the referee’s notebook.

United scored an away goal on the hour-mark to give them a crucial lead in a game of few chances against the La Liga side.

Marcus Rashford was expertly found by Victor Lindelof’s long-ball to catch out Granada’s defence and the England international finished brilliantly.

United will be hoping to press home their advantage after the break so Solskjaer can afford to rotate further in the second-leg.

Fortunately, United’s squad depth allows Shaw to be replaced by Alex Telles and there are a number of options to come in for McTominay in the midfield axis.

Current score: Granada 0-1 Manchester United
