Confirmed Manchester United XI to face Brighton: Paul Pogba and Edinson Cavani start

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has included Paul Pogba and Edinson Cavani in his Manchester United starting lineup to face Brighton and Hove Albion at Old Trafford.

United return to Premier League action on Easter Sunday against Graham Potter’s side and can go four points clear of second place with victory after Leicester’s defeat to runaway leaders Manchester City.

Solskjaer’s side haven’t conceded in the league in four games but the manager will be expecting a response after the FA Cup exit to Leicester just before the international break.

The Norwegian boss has made four changes from the side that were defeated at the King Power last fortnight, with Cavani, Rashford, Bruno Fernandes and Luke Shaw all returning to the starting team.

Dean Henderson retains his place in goal, suggesting he has usurped David de Gea as United’s first-choice goalkeeper.

Pogba lines up alongside Fred in the midfield axis, and Solskjaer will be delighted to welcome back Cavani and Rashford in attack following spells on the sidelines.

Cavani is set to lead the line for the Reds and will be supported in an attacking trident by Rashford and Mason Greenwood.
