Manchester United will face Southampton in the FA Cup semi-finals at Wembley if they can overcome Leicester City at the King Power.
The FA Cup draw was unusually completed at half-time of United and Leicester’s quarter-final, which is currently finely poised at 1-1.
Southampton defeated Bournemouth comfortably on Saturday to secure their passage to the semi-finals but were the most desirable opponents going into the draw.
United and Leicester have avoided the two most difficult sides, with Chelsea and Manchester City to face off in a fascinating final four encounter.
The tie gives Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side extra incentive to perform well in the second-half to defeat the Foxes.
Leicester were the better team in the first-half and deservedly led through Kelechi Iheanacho after calamitous play from Fred.
Mason Greenwood scored his first goal since January as United equalised with a brilliant move before the break.
Solskjaer may feel obliged to utilise key men Edinson Cavani and Bruno Fernandes in the second-half as he aims for his first silverware as United manager.
