Man City will be hoping to make it 16 straight league wins and 22 in a row in all competitions when they host Manchester United on Sunday.
It’s a top-of-the-table clash but Pep Guardiola’s side are 14 points clear with United sat in second place. There will be added pressure for the Reds after drawing their last three matches 0-0 in all competitions (Real Sociedad, Chelsea, Crystal Palace).
Standards have dropped recently but when you get results sometimes you forget the actual performances. Solskjaer said something along those lines when speaking to the media this afternoon, but he was also asked about the difference between United and City.
How long was the journalist expecting him to go on for?
The Norwegian gave a blunt response, saying (as per Manchester Evening News): “I don’t worry, I can only control what is happening at Man United. There are so many differences between the clubs. At the moment they are the only team ahead of us.”
Solskjaer names the most obvious difference between the two sides at the moment.
It shouldn’t be mistaken as a positive thing either. Being second best at United is never good enough.
The lads need to go out and make a statement this weekend and get their season back on track.
