Real Madrid are reportedly prepared to sell centre-back Raphael Varane to Manchester United in the summer.

Varane, 27, joined Real Madrid all the way back in 2011 following a £9m move from Lens.

Despite enjoying 10 hugely successful years at the Santiago Bernabeu, Varane’s long-term future has been thrown into doubt.

With less than 18-months left on his current deal, there is growing speculation the French World Cup winner could be moved on.

One club whose name continues to be linked with the 27-year-old is Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Red Devils.

United’s interest in the Real Madrid centre-back has been widely reported over the last few seasons, however, up until now, a move has failed to materialise.

That could all be set to change though, especially if a recent report from MEN is anything to go by.

Despite failing to agree on a move in the past, the Manchester focused outlet claim Los Blancos are finally edging closer to seeing him move on.

The report claims Real Madrid’s hierarchy are ‘prepared’ to sell their talented defender to United once the summer transfer window opens.

Worth noting – United could also be handed a huge boost should they opt to ramp up their efforts to land Varane.

The Frenchman is represented by the same agency that were tasked with bringing Amad Diallo to Old Trafford in January.
