(Video) Solskjaer explains why midfield duo Fred and Matic are starting vs Newcastle United

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been speaking ahead of his side’s evening Premier League kick-off against Newcastle United.

Solskjaer has named a starting 11 which includes five changes from the side who beat Real Sociedad 4-0 earlier in the week.

Striker Anthony Martial leads the line with Marcus Rashford and Daniel James either side.

Further back in midfield, Bruno Fernandes is stationed in his usual number-10 role with Fred and the experienced Nemanja Matic forming a double pivot.

Speaking ahead of the game, the Norwegian has confirmed why he has gone with those three midfielders.

With Scott McTominay, Paul Pogba and Donny van de Beek all ruled out through injury, Solskjaer and his coaching staff have been left with very little choice.
