Manchester United squad v Newcastle – Shola Shoretire in line for debut

Shola Shoretire is in contention to make his Manchester United debut again today after he was named in our Premier League squad to face Newcastle.

There’s also a place for Amad Diallo who made his Manchester United debut against Real Sociedad during the week.

United confirmed in a statement that Nicky Butt and Mark Dempsey will join Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the dugout as some first-team coaching staff have to self-isolate.

The club insists the United squad has not been affected.

Unfortunately, Donny van de Beek and Edinson Cavani have no recovered in time after missing Thursday’s 4-0 win, while Scott McTominay was not seen at the team hotel after sustaining a knock in that match.

United need to get back on track in the Premier League with a win today. No excuses.

United have managed just 10 points from the last 21 in the league and City’s victory over Everton on Wednesday night extended their lead at the top to 10 points. Nobody wants to see them run away with it and Solskjaer needs to get the lads focused on securing second place at the very least.

Full squad as seen at the team hotel (via Manchester Evening News):

David de Gea, Dean Henderson, Lee Grant, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Harry Maguire, Axel Tuanzebe, Victor Lindelof, Eric Bailly, Luke Shaw, Alex Telles, Brandon Williams, Fred, Nemanja Matic, Shola Shoretire, Bruno Fernandes, Juan Mata, Amad, Daniel James, Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, Mason Greenwood.
