(Video) Solskjaer reacts to possibility of Diallo bagging first start

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has weighed-in on the possibility of fans seeing new-signing Amad Diallo awarded with his first start.

Diallo, 18, was gifted his senior debut during Thursday night’s Europa League tie against Real Sociedad.

Following his £18.17m move from Atalanta last month, the teenager finally got his first taste of senior competitive action during the Red Devils’ 4-0 thrashing.

Although only on the pitch for a little over eight-minutes, fans can perhaps expect to see a lot more of the teenager in the side’s up and coming fixtures.

Speaking after his team’s brilliant win on Thursday night, Solskjaer admitted the club’s coaching staff will be giving serious consideration to starting Diallo soon.

“Well we’ll make a decision on that after Newcastle,” the Norwegian said. “He’s had a couple of games in the reserves and we’ll take it lightly.

“There are still a few players that were on the bench tonight that would want to start, of course, but Amad [Diallo] is getting closer.

“We’ll see how much game time he will get.”
