Exclusive: The true cost of Amad Diallo revealed

Manchester United’s new wonderkid Amad Diallo has made his long-awaited debut for the Red Devils during Thursday’s Europa League tie against Real Sociedad.

Diallo, 18, agreed to join United last summer, however, due to work permit complications, the Ivorian was forced to wait until the winter window to see his dream move finalised.

Now at home in Manchester, the teenage sensation has hit the ground running.

Three goals and three assists in his first two appearances for the club’s under-23 side prompted manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer into making a senior promotion.

An eight-minute cameo on Thursday night all but sealed Diallo’s place in the first-team and signalled a quick end to his youth spell.

Although the 18-year-old is arguably one of the most exciting talents to arrive in Manchester in recent history, there has always been some confusion surrounding his transfer fee.

After making the switch from Italian side Atalanta, several different transfer fees have been reported by leading journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Despite the varying figures, Stretty News can now exclusively reveal that the real figure paid to Atalanta is €21m (£18.17m) plus €18m (£15.57m) in add-ons.

Whether or not Diallo will end up activating the add-on clauses, which we believe to be an a combination of appearances and achievements, one thing is for sure, it already looks to be money well spent.
