Paul Scholes and Owen Hargreaves waxed lyrical about Bruno Fernandes after his latest goalscoring impact for Manchester United against Real Sociedad.
Fernandes netted his 20th and 21st goals of the season to all but end their Europa League round-of-32 tie as a contest at the halfway stage.
The totemic Portuguese playmaker opened the scoring with an opportunist goal and took control to finish clinically for United’s third.
Fernandes was an obvious man-of-the-match contender against La Real as Fred, Scott McTominay and Mason Greenwood also impressed in Turin.
United great Scholes described Fernandes on BT Sport as ‘sensational from the very day he signed’ and said he makes Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side play.
Scholes believes there is an inevitability around Fernandes creating goals and there is now a distinct possibility the 26-year-old could reach 30 goals this season.
