Jesse Lingard has not played in the Premier League for Manchester United since July.
On top of that, the 28-year-old midfielder has never made 20+ Premier League appearances in one season, so Jesse Lingard should really be looking to move on now to get some football matches under his belt.
When it comes to Lingard, he’s just not good enough for United and it has come to the stage where it would be best to say our goodbyes.
I wish him all the best, like I would with any player who has come through our youth academy and one who scored in a triumphant FA Cup final.
Sky Sports now claim West Brom have made an enquiry to Manchester United about a loan deal for Lingard.
Sam Allardyce wants to add Lingard’s quality to his side in another bid to avoid relegation. This move could help revamp the England international’s career after a lot of time on the fringes of United’s squad.
With West Ham also interested, Lingard could play under David Moyes again, but I think he would be guaranteed more playing time at the Albion.
United triggered a one-year extension on Lingard’s contract, which run runs until the summer of 2022. The club has yet to decide whether to allow Lingard leave before the February 1 deadline.
