Manchester United are reportedly one of four other top European clubs working hard to try and sign Palmeiras winger Gabriel Veron.

Veron, 18, was promoted to his side’s senior first-team in 2019 and made his competitive debut later that year.

Since his debut, Veron has gone on to showcase his talent in Brazilian’s top-flight by way of racking-up 15 direct goal contributions in his first 34 matches, in all competitions.

It has been the teenager’s hugely impressive form which has seen him emerge as a transfer target for some of Europe’s biggest clubs.

According to a recent written report from Sport (via Sports Witness), Barcelona, Juventus, Manchester City and United are all hoping to land the gifted youngster.

Sport claim that Barcelona are leading the charge, although the La Liga giants’ situation is difficult when it comes to making transfer decisions due to their ongoing presidential elections.

Elsewhere, the outlet claim United, City and Juventus have all made moved moves ‘behind-the-scenes’ in an attempt get ahead in the race to agree terms with the teenager.

Veron is contracted to Palmeiras until 2025 and has a whopping £53m (€60m) minimum release clause, however, it is believed his market value is much less.

Sport believe Palmeiras would be willing to allow their talented youngster to leave in a deal worth around £20m.
