Video: Paul Pogba explains anger at Liverpool miss after stunning winner vs Fulham

Paul Pogba described his goal and Manchester United’s victory as ‘beautiful’ as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side returned to the top of the Premier League at Craven Cottage.

The Frenchman’s second-half wonder strike lifted United back above Leicester and Manchester City after their cross-city rivals defeated Aston Villa to temporarily reach the summit hours earlier on Wednesday.

United had fallen behind through Ademola Lookman’ goal but Edinson Cavani’s equaliser and Pogba’s astonishing left-footed effort ensured another away comeback was completed in the league.

Pogba had been frustrated at Anfield against Liverpool on Sunday after failing to take a chance that would have given United all three points.

After finding space in the box, he struck powerfully but straight at Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson and United were forced to settle for a goalless draw.

The 27-year-old admitted he was ‘really mad’ and that he ‘should have done better’ on Merseyside after being asked whether he had got redemption this evening.

But he stressed it was ‘beautiful’ to score in style against a rejuvenated Fulham side that caused United plenty of problems throughout.
