Video: Fabrizio Romano discusses Paul Pogba transfer plans after Man Utd resurgence

Paul Pogba will not be leaving Manchester United in the January transfer window.

The circus surrounding Pogba’s future continues but reputable journalist Fabrizio Romano does not expect the Frenchman to leave this month.

Pogba’s exit from Old Trafford appears inevitable but he will be an asset for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for the remainder of the season at least as United attempt to mount the most unlikely Premier League title charge.

The World Cup winner was impressive in United’s 2-1 victory over Aston Villa on Friday that moved them level on points with Liverpool at the league’s summit.

But he is yet to cement a regular spot in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s starting midfield after a slow start to the season disrupted by his positive coronavirus test.

Pogba’s pompous super-agent Mino Raiola has been vocal on his client’s desire to leave Old Trafford for the second time, but Romano cannot envisage a move being completed this month due to the difficulties involved in the transfer.

Instead, he looks likely to leave next summer and it is important United secure a fair deal and use funds to secure an elite replacement.
