Man United have no interest in signing Hakan Calhanoglu

There have been a recent string of reports coming out of Italy and Germany suggesting that AC Milan midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu is on the verge of completing a shock transfer to Manchester United. However, Stretty News understands this is not the case and these reports could not be wider of the mark.

Calhanoglu, 26, joined AC Milan from Bayer Leverkusen in 2017 in a transfer worth £20.97m, as per Transfermarkt.

Since his arrival in Italy three-years ago, the Turkish playmaker has featured in a total of 143 matches and has been directly involved in 67 goals in all competitions.

With his contract set to expire next summer, there has been a recent surge of speculation suggesting the AC Milan attacker could be set for a shock switch to Old Trafford, with the most notable report coming from journalist Christian Falk.

Falk recently claimed that there was a ‘90% chance’ Calhanoglu would join-up with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at United, as per Sempre Milan.

The well-respected German journalist’s recent claims have been backed-up by Sky Germany (via ESPN) who are currently reporting that the 26-year-old midfielder’s proposed move to United is ‘edging nearer’.

However, Stretty News has recently obtained information from a close source who has revealed that the speculation coming out of Europe is not be believed, at all.

It has been confirmed to us that there is a general feeling among both camps that these links will soon die down once the Turkish playmaker is rewarded with a new contract at AC Milan.

Our information aligns with outlet Calciomercato‘s recent report that Calhanoglu’s representatives are using United’s high-profile name purely with the aim to get his own way.
