Bild reporter claims Manchester United have 90% chance of signing AC Milan midfielder

It’s very difficult to predict what will happen in the January transfer window with the majority of teams being reluctant to spend excessively like previous years. It may well be a transfer period that is dominated by loan moves and Bosman deals.

A potential deal heating up in the press right now is Hakan Calhanoglu to Manchester United.

We shed light on a recent Stretford Paddock Podcast which saw Bild reporter Christian Falk claim the deal between United and the Turkey playmaker ‘will happen’ next summer.

The attack-minded midfielder is free to speak with other clubs in January when he enters the final six months of his current contract, and Falk is adamant United are in pole position to sign the Milan star.

Falk, a German reporter, has now rated Calhanoglu’s chances of moving to Old Trafford at 90%. He told AC Milan blog SempreMilan.com: “According to our information, the first talks between Manchester and the entourage of Calhanoglu about a transfer in 2021 already took place this summer.

“At that time, things were already very advanced. This is supported by the fact that the management rejected an offer from Juventus for an immediate transfer in 2020 shortly before the end of the transfer deadline.

“At the moment it’s about the exactly salary for the transfer. Calhanoglu has the big advantage that he is a free agent.”

Sempre Milan had a great follow up question asking Falk what the percentage change is of Calhanoglu wearing a United shirt next season, to which he replied: “90%.”
