Former Manchester United striker Andy Cole was involved in a heated debate on popular football radio station TalkSPORT yesterday evening which saw the ex-pro discuss whether or not Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is the right man to manage his old side.
Solskjaer’s ability to restore United back to their better winning days has been discussed since his position was made permanent back in March 2019, and Cole believes the Norwegian deserves more time after showcasing a decent record after his first 100 matches in charge.
Elsewhere, TalkSPORT host Hugh Woozencroft’s views on the matter are in stark contract to Cole’s.
Woozencroft believes that Solskjaer will never be able to guide United back to their silverware winning days and even went as far as to sarcastically claim the club’s hierarchy have been paying ex-players to publicly back Solskjaer.
Strange one, but you can hear the exchange below.
💰 “I know why Man United didn’t spend any money this summer…”
😳 “They’ve given it all to their ex-players to say Ole is the right man for the job!”
👀 “Keane, Scholes, Neville – no one wants Solskjaer out!
