Shakhtar Donetsk wonderkid opens door to possible United transfer

Shakhtar Donetsk forward Tete has earmarked Manchester United as a possible transfer destination after impressing in Ukraine.

The Brazilian wonderkid has set his signs on a big move after scoring 12 goals across 49 appearances for Shakhtar Donetsk after leaving the youth system at Gremio in 2019.

Tete, 20, has earmarked Liverpool as well as United, but his preferred option sounds like it could be La Liga giants Barcelona.

He recently scored and registered an assist in Shakhtar Donetsk’s 3-2 win over Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League.

“I always want to make bigger leaps,” Tete told DAZN (H/t Sport Witness & Mundo Deportivo).

“I always dream of playing for Liverpool, Manchester United, Barcelona, as I mentioned. But the special affection I have is for Barcelona.

“It’s a team that I’ve always followed since I was little, since I was a child. I used to get Barcelona shirts, Messi shirts.

“So that passion grew every day and the affection I really have is for Barcelona.”

It’s clear from that Barcelona could have a clear run at Tete.

And it just might be a good time for the Brazilian because the Catalans may need to finance a squad rebuild by getting rid of some players who are coming to the end of their careers but still on mega money contracts.

Tete could be perfect for Manchester United

It’s no secret that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would like a right winger.

Tete has the attributes which suggest he might be a decent addition to Solskjaer’s squad.

He can play on both flanks, is quick and thrives at taking on defenders.
