Manchester United already planning Erling Haaland pursuit after missing out on Jadon Sancho transfer

Manchester United have renewed their interest in signing Erling Haaland, according to reports.

The Norwegian striker was heavily linked with a move to United prior to joining Borussia Dortmund, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has plans already under way to try and bring him to Old Trafford, as per The Athletic.

Haaland, who previously worked with Solskjaer at Molde, reportedly has a £68m release clause valid in the summer of 2022 and it is suggested United will look to sign him then.

United struggled in their dealings (or lack of) with Borussia Dortmund over the summer in their attempts to sign England winger Jadon Sancho (via GOAL).

The pair are linking up well in the Bundesliga but I don’t think anyone at the club expects them both to still be there in two years time.

Sancho and Haaland are destined for better things than playing for Dortmund, but sadly I don’t see them being teammates at United. Not when you consider how the club conducts business.

Signing them both would just make too much sense for this United board.

Back to FIFA 21 for Ole.
