Norwegian journalist leaks Manchester United starting XI to face Newcastle

A respected Norwegian journalist has ‘leaked’ an early Manchester United starting XI to face Newcastle on Saturday evening.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Reds must bounce back in their first game after the international break to put the Old Trafford humiliation against Tottenham behind them.

There has been plenty of debate surrounding Solskjaer’s selection at St James’ Park and the team tweeted out by Fredrik A. Filtvedt on Saturday lunchtime is bound to cause some stir if true.

The reported leaked team includes captain Harry Maguire, who many fans have agreed should be dropped after dismal form for his club was compounded with a red card on international duty in England’s Nations League defeat to Denmark.

There is no place in the leaked starting XI for new signings Alex Telles and Donny van de Beek with Paul Pogba and Luke Shaw retaining their spots in the team suggested by Filtvedt.

Van de Beek has done more than enough to earn his first Premier League start and it would be frustrating to see the Dutchman left on the bench given the recent underwhelming performances of Paul Pogba.

Meanwhile, as many have also predicted, Juan Mata comes in on the right-flank with Mason Greenwood shifting to he centre in a front three with Anthony Martial and Edinson Cavani both unavailable.
