Donny van de Beek didn’t think twice before smashing the ball into the roof of the net to score an equalising goal against Italy.
Although the former Ajax midfielder struggles to get into Manchester United’s starting eleven, he started tonight’s Nations League clash against the Italians.
It’s half-time now, but AS Roma’s Lorenzo Pellegrini opened the scoring for Italy after 16 minutes.
Van de Beek scored following an assist from former United star Memphis Depay nine minutes later.

The scoreline was 1-1 at half-time.
From the footage below you can see how Barcelona’s Frenkie De Jong controls the game’s tempo in midfield. His precise passing splits open the Italian defence which leads to a great deal of confusion inside the box.
The United midfielder had nothing else in mind but to find the back of the net.
I thought he put it over at first glance.
