What Solskjaer said in FaceTime call with new Man Utd signing Amad Diallo

Manchester United are convinced they have signed a star in teenage winger Amad Diallo, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

Diallo was one of four deadline day signings on a hectic Monday at Old Trafford, but the teenager will not arrive until January.

The Ivorian will arrive from Atalanta, who are considered to have the best academy setup in the whole of Italy.

As per BBC Sport, United have been tracking Diallo for three years and decided to make their move this summer.

Diallo scored on his Serie A debut last October and has made three league appearances for his club.

Romano explained the context behind United’s successful pursuit of Diallo in his ‘Here we Go’ transfer podcast.

He noted that manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had a FaceTime call with Diallo before he signed, telling the 18-year-old that he will be part of the club’s future and is even ready to play for the first-team.

Romano adds that in initial discussions with his agent, the United board stated that they are convinced that he is one of the top three players for his age group in the world.

United appear to have scouted Diallo extensively and are thrilled to have secured the signing of one of the most promising young talents across Europe.
