Ed Woodward disagreed with Joel Glazer over Sancho transfer demands

Ed Woodward over overruled by Joel Glazer in Manchester United’s pursuit of Jadon Sancho this summer.

That is according to The Athletic with claims suggesting Glazer and other members of the United board were against the idea of paying Borussia Dortmund’s asking price, which was deemed unrealistic due to the coronavirus crisis.

Apparently Woodward was left ‘powerless’ in the transfer market after United’s owners deemed the deal too expensive.

Now, if this is true maybe Woodward will come to terms with what the fans have been saying all along about these owners, but at the end of the day he’s their puppet doing as they say. That has been the case ever since Sir Alex Ferguson and David Gill left the club.

The report goes on to add that Sancho was never going to agitate for a move unless United came close to Dortmund’s demands, but he was relaxed rather than desperate when it came to the transfer.

That said, the report makes it clear that he had friends at United like Marcus Rashford who he has been texting throughout the summer about potentially linking up together at the same club.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t to be and Sancho remains at Dortmund.
