Exclusive: Man United not considering late move for Sevilla’s Lucas Ocampos

A shock report from ESPN emerged earlier today that suggested Manchester United could be ready to make a late summer swoop for Sevilla attacker Lucas Ocampos, however, those reports are understood to be false.

Ocampos, 26, enjoyed a thoroughly impressive season last time out with current Sevilla after helping guide the La Liga side to an impressive and record breaking sixth Europa League title.

The Argentinian’s attacking heroics helped guide Sevilla to European glory after he most notably scored an 88th minute winner against Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers during the quarter-final stage.

After going onto impress in the competition’s latter stages and being directly involved in a remarkable 23 goals in 47 appearances in all competitions last season, reports earlier today suggested the forward who was available for just £36m was a target for United.

However, Stretty News has recently obtained exclusive information directly from a senior official at United who has dismissed this report and said: “Nothing in that whatsoever.

“Great example of baseless rumour that then creates more noise.”

United are understood to still be working in the transfer market with Monday’s 11pm deadline fast approaching and with just under four days to go, if the club are to bring in more additions then it goes without saying, they will need to act fast.

However, one player who will not be playing at Old Trafford this season is Sevilla’s Ocampos.
