Manchester United held talks over Real Madrid’s Luka Jovic and free agent Edinson Cavani

Spanish reports claim Luka Jovic looks certain to leave Real Madrid within the next week.

The claim wasn’t put to bed by Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane either. The Frenchman said that until the transfer window closes on 5 October, Jovic is ready for every possibility, as per GOAL.

Diario AS understands that the Serbian striker is close to sealing a move to Italy, and has three offers on the table — from Roma, Inter Milan and AC Milan.

AS report there has also been interest from Manchester United, while Beyond The Pitch podcast host Phil Brown (@Malachians) says the club has held talks with not only Jovic but Edinson Cavani.

The same report in Spain backs up the Cavani talks which have involved the player’s brother and current agent Walter Guglielmone.

Cavani is a free agent after leaving PSG so his wages will be very high.

Jovic was seen as one of the hottest prospects in Europe prior to his move to Real Madrid, but it really hasn’t worked out for the 22-year-old who signed from Benfica after impressing on loan at Eintracht Frankfurt.

Which striker would you prefer if you had the choice to sign for United before deadline day?
