Italian giants make approach for out-of-favour Man United defender

Italian giants AC Milan have reportedly made an initial approach for out-of-favour full-back Diogo Dalot with the Serie A club looking for a loan deal including an option to buy.

Dalot, 21, joined United under former manager Jose Mourinho back in 2018 from FC Porto in a move which cost the Reds £19.8m as per TransferMarkt.

Despite Dalot being tipped for great things the young full-back has failed to impress during his two-years with the Reds.

The 21-year-old has recently fallen out-of-favour with current boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after only managing to feature in 34 matches in all competitions since his United debut in September 2018.

According to leading transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Dalot’s time as a Red Devil could be set to come to an end after Serie A giants AC Milan make an approach for his services.

Romano claims that the Rossoneri have asked United to take their Portuguese full-back on loan with an option buy.

However, according to the leading transfer expert, the Reds would prefer to offload Dalot in a permanent deal.

It is understood that no agreement has yet to be reached but with just six days left in this summer’s transfer window there is still plenty of time for that to change.
